A meditation on clarity

A meditation on clarity. Made for neutrality, clarity, awareness and non-awareness.--

--Going all the way back to the concept of Erik Satie's furniture music, or Brian Eno's ambient music, Apothecary was created to be a functional form of music. Giving sound to silence, or rather, giving substance to silence. I needed sound to fill up my space that was equally interesting, as it was un-interesting. --

--It would be allowed to envoke an emotion, but not so much as it required your full attention. It needed to be healing, as i needed to heal. It needed room for contemplation, as it needed room for silence. It needed to sound like a relic from the past, while remaining a future-forward record.--

--For this record, i wanted to release it during the summer months, and not let it stay under covers for too long. It was never intended to have a big rollout, or adhere to release schedules. It was meant to be beginningless, as much as it is intended to be endless. --

--Apothecary, as the name suggests, is a place of healing, by use of different medi(a)cations. Aromatic materials, as those that became my track titles, have been the basis of many inspirations for years at this point. Being academically educated in the heritage field, i have done considerable research in olfactory history\olfactory heritage. Our dependency on smell might have decreased, but its impact is nonetheless noticable in endless facets that form our daily lives (a topic i will inevitably write more about). --

--I am inspired by the impact of olfactory materials throughout the years, and as i once heard someone say; '' Medicine either becomes medication, or it becomes tea''.
