Freaky Dancing [Hot House, Scent Design]

In collaboration with Delphine Lejeune, a visual designer and material researcher, an installation was built adressing orchidelirium. Orchidelirium is a phenomenon that occured in the Victorian Era, and is also reffered to as Flower Madness. The entangled and sensitive history of collecting flowers and orchids, where many people died as a result of conflict with locals or rival hunters.

By placing these flowers outside of their natural habitat, their context is taken away from them, and their meaning degenerates.

For Delphine's installlation, Brian created a two scents dual in nature. One was a room scent, highlighting the floral and heady allure of the orchids. The other scent was revealed when the public smelled the installation. This scent was the scent of violence, burning wood, dirt and blood.
